Notara School of Dance & Acting was founded by
Sally & Darrell Notara in 1976.

The Notara's are certified teachers of The American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.

As interfaith ministers and worldwide travelers, the Notara appreciate all people, religions, and cultures culminating in a unique educational learning environment.

The Notara's have an extensive background in the professional world of theatre and dance. Credits include:

Their dance talents have brought them into association with Anthony Tudor, Bob Fosse, Martha Graham, and Agnes DeMille.

Sally and Darrell started the Dance Department at Blair Academy and have been substitute teachers for Centennary College.

They also instruct for special gifted and talented workshops in the educational systems.

The Notaras are members of the Pocono Chamber of Commerce, certified members of the National Association of Dance & Affiliated Artists, and Dance Educators of America . Professional unions include American Guild of Variety Artists, and Actors Equity Association. They are alumni of Goodman Theatre, Stephens College, and Drake University.

Notara School of Dance & Acting offers classical ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern and acting.

Ballet is a required class at all times. There are classes for children, and men and women, beginner through professional level.

Recitals are bi-annual. Performance opportunities are possible through Notara Dance Theatre, a not-for-profit dance organization.
